Mitsubishi’s Exciting New Roadside Program

Earlier this month Mitsubishi announced that the Spyder, Lancer, Galant, Eclipse, Outlander, and the all-new i-MiEV plug-in electric vehicle will all receive Roadside Assistance from Agero, a company they chose to serve their U.S. customers.

For the i-MiEV this service will include: mobile charging, tire service, fluid service, lock-out assistance and towing. These services will be available from purchase until you’ve reached either 3 years or 36,000 miles, 24 hours a day.

For all other new Mitsubishi autos all those same features will be available, (obviously you will not be using the charging service, however they will jump start your car.) This 24 hour assistance will last from point of purchase until five years later, regardless of mileage.

The service will cover the owner or any other family member who happens to be inside of it at the time. Agero services North America and Europe, and is located in Bedford, MA.

Kia Optima Diesel?

Kia Motors America Public Relations Facebook page is currently surveying (please be aware some users have used profanity) the public about their opinion on a diesel powered Optima. The response has been overwhelmingly positive. A good number of people also commented that they would like to see other Kias get the diesel treatment, such as the Soul and Sorento.

In Europe where diesel has always been more popular, you can by a Sportage with a 2.0 liter R-Series turbodiesel, it gets approximately 27.6 MPG which is 5MPG better than what is currently available. It also produces 184HP which is 10HP better, unless you buy the SX. Since the Optima weighs the same and gets the same MPG as the Sportage, you could guess that the improvements would be similar.

Many manufactures are wary of investing diesel powered autos in the U.S. due to the history of poor sales and poor public perception. However, with gas prices steadily climbing, and the news of a diesel-powered luxury sedan getting 84MPG and setting the a world record, Kia might be adding some engine options to their U.S. fleet. Hyundai to Add 877 Jobs in Alabama

Facing an ever-growing demand for their product, Hyundai has announced that they will add employees to their Montgomery, Alabama plant. Applications and training are scheduled for summer, and Hyundai also anticipates a “ripple-effect” in hiring in the community, for their suppliers and other supporting industries.

The increased workforce will boost production of the Sonata and Elantra. The two most popular Hyundais account for almost half of their sales. Some American dealerships expressed they could have sold even more autos had the supply met the demand, and Hyundai responded promptly. Following a record-setting March, April’s sales surpassed last year’s numbers. It was also their second-best month in history, as March was slightly better. Hyundai admits that short supplies of some of their vehicles may have prevented them from breaking March’s record. April also marked an impressive 40th consecutive month of growth for the automaker. Volkswagen of America and Keffer Volkswagen are here to tell you that the 2012 Volkswagen Passat is well worth the wait! Volkswagen Touareg Driving Towards A New World Record

Keffer Volkswagen wants to share the most recent VW Touareg news, and this news is something to be incredibly excited about! The 2011 Touareg is driving the Panamericana75! What exactly is the Panamericana? It is a legendary drive across the longest road in the world, the road that connects Alaska and Finland, while crossing 16 different countries. This year the Touareg will make the long trek of 14,000 miles, which will take 14 days ending on the 17th of May. Not only are we stoked that the Volkswagen Touareg was chosen to make the drive, but also excited that this is the 75th anniversary year of the Panamericana!
