As the global economy continues to blur the lines between imports and exports, more Mitsubishi automobiles will be made here in the States. Ironically, half of those vehicles made in the Normal, IL plant will be exported to Europe and the Middle East. The Outlander Sport will join the Galant and Endeavour as models that can claim to be made in the USA.
The 2013 Outlander Sport replaces the top-selling 2012 version, and gets a few upgrades in the process. It has had quite the facelift on the exterior, while the inside gets some new accents. It also has “FUSE” hands free technology, an encyclopedia’s worth of safety features (ABS , stability and traction controls, Hill Start Assist, and more,) and keyless entry. The CUV gets an economical 31MPG on the highway, while producing 148HP from just a 2.0L 4 cylinder. If you opt for the manual transmission you can go 0-60 in 8.8 seconds.
Though the Outlander Sport can brag about being the most popluar, the Lancer Evolution is up 35% year-to-date, and though the Galant sedan is only up 3.1% YTD, it had a really good June, besting 2011′s numbers by 115%. As a whole, 2012 models are out selling their 2011 counterparts by 10.2%
